Earlier Year Update (EYU)

Correcting errors in payroll totals

If you discover an error, after 19th April 2014, in any of the year to date totals submitted in your final FPS for 2013/14 then an Earlier Year Update (EYU) must be submitted restating the totals for 2013/14. These are the only circumstances for which an EYU submission is required.

To prepare an Earlier Year Update (EYU)

In the RTI menu of BrightPay 2013/14 select the Earlier Year Update (EYU) from the New menu

EYU

If you submit an EYU to HMRC to correct 2013/14 totals, you can still prepare and submit an EPS within BrightPay 2013/14 to submit recoverable amounts and also the end of year declarations.
